The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid

The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt KidI have read most of Bill Bryson’s works and love his dry sense of humor, originality, and cultural insights.  I also love his delivery (having previously listened to A Walk in the Woods), so I decided to check out from my local library the audio version of his recent memoir.  I have never enjoyed my daily commute so much; his details of life growing up in Des Moines, Iowa during the 1950s are not only hilarious, but also surprisingly informative.  If you’re a Bill Bryson fan, interested in American history, or looking for a great way to distract yourself from the countless frustrations encountered while driving in rush hour on an interstate highway in New Jersey, I highly recommend this fun-filled autobiography.

I totally want to read this! My boyfriend read it recently and could not stop laughing the whole time. A Walk in the Woods is one of my favorites.
