A Short History of Nearly Everything
Since I’ve been blogging about tons of children’s books lately, I thought I’d mix it up a little and tell you what I thought of this lengthy, mostly serious, near-encyclopedic history of science. I’ve read just about every book Bill Bryson has written, but it wasn’t until I listened to this one that I was able to truly appreciate his sheer writing talent. I found myself enjoying learning about physics. Physics! I zipped through the 15 CDs in record time and highly recommend this work to anyone looking for a painless and surprisingly entertaining way to brush up on his or her knowledge of the major (and some minor) ologies out there.
