Fortunately for both himself and the author of this heartwarming true story, the adorably impish, blind black cat finds a safe home and instantly begins transforming his new owner’s life. With his phenomenal physical feats and incredibly strong personality, Homer is beyond endearing, and the book chronicles over a decade’s worth of his miraculous and entertaining achievements. Much of the last half of Homer’s Odyssey centers on Gwen’s herculean efforts to rescue her cats from her Financial District apartment following the September 11 attacks. By turns heartbreaking and laugh-out-loud funny, this one is more targeted to a female audience, as it does contain a bit of relationshippy material.
