Happens Every Day: An All-Too-True Story

This book was so sad, but I loved it. It’s the story of Isabel, a woman with the perfect life - gorgeous, poetry professor husband; two young sons; an idyllic life in quaint college town, Oberlin, OH. Then suddenly, Isabel’s husband falls in love with another woman (and not just any woman - one of Isabel’s own friends!) and leaves her. It was absolutely heartbreaking, but utterly rivetting. It was written in a very personal, fast-paced way, that made me completely unable to put the book down until I finished it (I love a fast read, even when it’s depressing).
This is a tough book to rave about, because the subject matter is so difficult, but I can’t help myself. So if you’re a depressing memoir junkie like me, you should try this one.
