The Goose Girl
This is one of those cases where although I didn’t love the main character, the plot and intriguing writing style kept it interesting and entertaining. The Goose Girl is very loosely based on the Grimm fairytale of the same name, which I happened to have read a few years ago and completely forgot about in the meantime. I’ve enjoyed books featuring humans and animals conversing ever since as a young child I read the best Choose Your Own Adventure ever, The Magic of the Unicorn. If you’re looking for a tale full of adventure, suspense, suffering, imaginary kingdoms, peasants, forests, and a smidgen of romance, this one might be for you.
