My First Ramadan
It’s that time of year again for Muslims around the world to stop what they are doing to celebrate Ramadan. This book describes a young boy’s first Ramadan and gives a good incite into what this holiday is all about. I recommend this book for children of all religions, to give an easy to interpret understanding of why Muslims do this every year. This book may even help some adults out there that don’t know too much about Islam and Muslims and have a curiosity. Elementary school teachers wanting to teach different cultures and religions to his or her class won’t go wrong with this book; easy to understand without getting too religious. I remember working in the public library; teachers coming in all the time looking for books to open children’s minds to new worlds. For anyone curious, Ramadan should be ending around the third week of September this year, so its a good time to pick this book up.
