Loving FrankI read this book because I am drawn to the design of anything that is Frank Lloyd Wright-esk. I wanted to know more about the person behind the designs. This novel describes his personality—a visionary genius with a fierce temper—and his relationship with a married woman named Mamah Cheney. The story is based on real happenings in his life. After finding out details that were not so flattering about this man, maybe the attraction to his designs would have been better left admired from afar (for me anyway). It was, however, fascinating reading. The book focuses on Mamah more than Frank. I would recommend the book, but remember that you will never look at a Lloyd Wright design the same way again. Then again, isn’t that what a powerful book is supposed to do?

I love FLW too! I’ve had this book on my shelf for a long time, but I’m afraid I’m not going to feel the same way about him after reading it. T.C. Boyle recently wrote a fictional book about him too.

    P.S. Like the font!
