Hey, readers!

Have you packed your beach bag for Labor Day yet? If not, I have a new author to share with you. (Avert your eyes if you are not into finding Happily Ever After, one romance at a time!)

Now that I have the attention of my beach-reading, romance loving audience, I give you Tessa Dare, author of:

Goddess of the Hunt ISBN: 9780345506863

Surrender of a Siren ISBN: 9780345506870

A Lady of Persuasion: ISBN: 9780345506887

Published by: Ballantine, Mass Market Paperback

The time: Regency period

The place: England, a few days ride from London

The setting:  A countryside, Walcott Manor - where the men are men, the ladies are swoon-worthy, and the competition between young lovers is fierce!

Lucy Walcott has grown up one of the boys. The charge of her brother, she’s been allowed years of tormenting governesses and tutors, to spend the fall season traipsing through the woods with her brother and his Eaton school pals hunting, fishing, and riding–at will–on her spirited horse, Thistle. She’s never given much thought to love, but decides it’s time to make her brother’s best friend fall in love with her.

Yes. You read that right. She’s going to make it happen. And, of course, in order to do so — she’ll need some practice with someone she trusts. Enter Jeremy Trescott, hero-worthy title, impeccable looks, just enough of a cad that the ladies love him, and he sees Lucy as a child. Until she throws herself at him. Suddenly, he’s on a whirlwind–and their “act” to get Toby to fall for Lucy upends them both in a wonderful tale of two people finding love, and understanding in each other, along with passion. There is foreshadowing of the next book in the series, and a journey of a runaway bride on her way to Tortola! giving all the promise and possiblity I now expect from Tessa Dare.

Was it beach read worthy? Let’s just say, I had this in my beach bag, and was able to read here and there, enjoying every moment. The children dug sand castles, populated it with sand crabs and shells. Pages flew, and before I knew it, the tide found my toes and I retreated to find moments by the pool or up on the deck, watching the sun set, turning page after page to see how Jeremy and Lucy worked things out!

My copy of Goddess of the Hunt is now dogeared and sandy, but it’s there on the shelf as a keeper. The second story in the series, Surrender of a Siren, is on its way for Labor Day! With A Lady of Persuasion due to follow.

Ballantine lovingly offered the first chapter of Surrender of a Siren at the end, and of course, that is now winging it’s way to my door for Labor Day’s beach bonanza!

I’m looking forward to it more than I should! and am planning more activities for the kids so that I get some… alone time… with Sophia and the rogue ship captain,”Gray” Grayson on their way to Tortolla.

AND, just who is Isabelle Grayson? With words like a beguilling, sultry beauty, who better to fell the heart of Sir Tobias Aldridge,  the one that Lucy let get away…?

Oh, you guessed it. I’m hooked, readers.

I’m sure  A Lady of Persuasion will find its way into my beach bag for our annual September beach camping trip.It just has to, to round out my summer regency romance reading list!

Until next time… when we discuss the best romance reads for Fall!
