My first book for the Bowker Reads Blog
Success! I have finished reading my first book for the Bowker Reads Blog! Walter Mosley’s “A Little Yellow Dog” the book I chose fit my requirements to a T. It was by an author who had other titles “RL’s Dream” & “Devil in a Blue Dress”, I had previously enjoyed reading, it had been sitting on my book shelf for YEARS, and I was confident I could get to the last page in a reasonable amount of time (an important criteria as I am not blessed with the speed reading capabilities of some of my fellow reviewers). I will be posting a review shortly, but I can already report that I am happy the blog got me back to the world of Easy Rawlins. One of the best things about picking up the book for the blog, was that it made me a motivated reader. I brought the book with me to the pool and on the train, these might seem like obvious reading locales to some, but in recent years I had always opted for a newspaper or magazine. Book two is
already off the shelf and cracked open, Simon Winchester’s “Krakatoa: The Day the World Exploded: August 27, 1883″. It is a bit denser in subject matter, page count and even font size! But I had really enjoyed Winchester’s popular approach to history and science when I read his “The Map that Changed the World: William Smith and the Birth of Modern Geology”. I look forward to sharing my reviews and more of my reading experiences with you soon.

What a great idea! An employee-based book review website, I love it. Great review by rcoviello, looking forward to reading more of his stuff.
